ABOUT THE TRACK

Having experimented in a number of genres and across a few collaborations over 2021, this new release from A Band Called Paul marks a return to the band's indie rock roots.

The tracks takes its cue from late 1970's and early 1980's post-punk new wave, with elements of The Buzzcocks, The Undertones and other purveyors of 3-minute guitar rock/pop - but, of course, with a slightly unusual edge to it.

LYRICS

I ... I'm gonna learn how to fly.
I'm gonna land on your doorstep and stay for the night.
Maybe it's unusual to land like this
But I've started my descent into another kiss.

And the world I left behind was made up in my mind.
There's a new world open wide, calling us outside.

You answer the questions that I never asked.
You're the only one to see behind the mask.
Maybe it's unusual, but that's how it goes
'Cos I'm loving every inch from your head to your toes.

And the world I left behind was made up in my mind.
There's a new world open wide, calling us outside.

I ... I'm gonna swim for a mile.
I'd cross and ocean to reach you, just to see your smile.
Maybe it's unusual but I'm feeling strong
And I'd do anything I can to be where I belong.

And the world I left behind was made up in my mind.
There's a new world open wide, calling us outside.
And the world I left behind was made up in my mind.
There's a new world open wide, calling us outside.
